Reading Intervention Letter Fridays

Category : App Only Letters

Dear Parent/Guardian,

As a way of supporting your child and their learning, I would like to invite them to participate in our Reading Intervention support sessions.

The sessions take place before the school day, starting at 08:15am. Students must be able to make their own way to school. Please let us know if this would be problematic as we can arrange for after school catch-up if this is preferred.

The sessions will focus on developing reading, inference and prediction skills which aim to improve a student’s confidence, fluency and comprehension when reading. This will involve small group reading, discussion and Accelerated Reader online quizzing.

Reading is recognised worldwide as the biggest barrier to raising attainment and achievement. It is therefore a priority that every student is able to access every curriculum across the school to enable them to fulfill their potential. We very much welcome your support, and look forward to helping your child on their reading journey.

Students should meet at 8:15am in the Learning Resource Centre (Library) to meet with their Reading Mentor on every Friday until the end of the school term.

Could please complete the online form here to let us know whether your child will be attending these sessions or not.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions on the email below.
