Why choose EMS?
We are Hartlepool’s thriving Catholic secondary school with over 1500 pupils on roll from age 11-18.
Supported as part of a trust network, we can rely upon other schools within the Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust family to give trainees a variety of opportunities while training with us.
Training is delivered in partnership with Carmel Teacher Training Partnership (CTTP) , rated Outstanding by OFSTED , and St Mary’s University London.
Our huge network comes with many years of experience and can offer a comprehensive training programme that will prepare new teachers for their role within the classroom as well as the wider school community. Choosing to study with us gives you a bespoke learning experience within a supportive staff, setting you off on the best footing into a fulfilling career.
Trainees will spend time in central training events at Carmel College, Darlington as well as working within our school. They will also be given the opportunity to spend half a term in another secondary school where the contrast in placement can offer insight into the differences to be found in different institutions.
