I am delighted to invite your child to take part in this year’s scholar’s programme beginning in the Spring term 2022. The scholar’s programme is an initiative designed to push the most able students to work at a high level and to experience what it is like to take part in work at a university level. Your child has been invited to participate because we believe that they have the ability and drive to consider attending a highly selective university.
The course will be organised and delivered by people working at high standards in a university already, with the aim to show your child what studying and working at a university level is like.
They will learn about a subject in greater depth than they have before, this year students will be studying an arts and humanities project considering the question: “How have games influenced modern art?”
There will be a number of in school sessions as a group and one-to-one sessions with the course tutor. The plan is that these sessions take place face-to-face, but if necessary we can move sessions online.
There will be an amount of personal study, research and work expected of all students taking part, including some homework that they will be expected to complete and submit online. They will be supported throughout to produce a university level project at the end.
We expect students who begin the course to complete it to the best of their ability.
Please can you complete this very short online form to confirm or decline or child’s participation. https://forms.office.com/r/ukHx7FgyKX
Following this letter there are two letters from the Scholar’s Programme. The first is a welcome letter that includes links to data forms that the Scholar’s Programme required for your child to take part. A link to complete the data form can be found online here: https://www.tfaforms.com/4932304 The second is an invitation to an online event introducing the course. You will need to sign up to a KS3/4 event if you wish to attend this.
Many thanks, and if you have any questions at all please contact me via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
