Dear Parent/Guardian,

I have great pleasure in announcing that The English Martyrs French Department is offering a school trip to Boulogne-sur-Mer and Paris, France; departing Thursday, 13th July 2023 at 22:00, travelling by coach overnight and taking the ferry the following morning.  We will spend 3 nights in France and then return on Monday, 17th July at 22:00.

During the trip, students will have the opportunity to engage in a number of fun and cultural activities whilst putting their language skills into practice.  Students will only need a small amount of spending money.

The cost of the trip is provisionally £540 per person which includes travel, accommodation, most meals (a packed lunch needs to be provided for the first day only and money for a meal at a service station on the return to Hartlepool), excursions to Nausicaa Aquarium, a traditional French Bakery on the Opal Coast, a day in Paris including a boat trip down the Seine and entry into Disneyland.  There will also be evening activities each night.

Students must currently have a valid passport, valid for 3 months from the date of travel. If necessary, students must also have a VISA.

Students should also have a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) in order to travel. The medical insurance cards can be obtained online for free if you do not already have one.

Parents need to ensure that their child meets the country’s entry requirements for Covid 19, further guidance can be found: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/france/entry-requirements.

Please be aware that entry requirements can change up to 24 hours prior to travel.  Should government guidelines change prior to travel, additional costs may occur for students to be eligible to travel. Should a student test positive for COVID-19, meaning they cannot attend the trip, the cost is refundable (this refund excludes the deposit) through the travel company, Voyager.

There will be 40 places in total available on this trip so we are asking that expressions of interest are completed by 9am on Thursday 20th October by completing the following Microsoft form:
