Dear Parent/ Carer,

A reminder that Friday 20th October is a staff training day and students are not in school. We return on Monday 30th October to begin our final half term of 2023.

This year has already been filled with outstanding learning, exciting trips and opportunities for students to take part, as well as various clubs and enrichment activities. Students have been wonderful at embracing these opportunities and have shown such talent, resilience and confidence. We are very proud of them.

Your support in ensuring your child attends school on time and every day, as well as your continued efforts to encourage them to engage in lessons and in clubs, is very much appreciated.  Thank you.

We will continue to focus on enforcing high standards when we return after the break. This includes:

  • ensuring excellent attendance. We know that good attendance helps students to achieve their potential. If you have any issues or need support, please contact your child’s Pastoral Leader.
  • insisting on high standards of uniform. This includes school shoes, no jewellery (other than a watch/ pair of stud earrings) and no false eyelashes. Correct skirt/ trousers and school tie are outlined here: Uniform
  • students must have their planner, equipment and a reading book every day.

You can always see what your child is learning on our website Curriculum and subject areas and what clubs are available here Enrichment activities and clubs

It is very important that we can share with you information about your child and our platform for sharing key information and updates is via the school app. Please download the app ‘My Child at School’ from the app store/play store and register. If your email address matches our system, it will sync and show you your child.

This app is also used to purchase items, pay for trips/visits, top up dinner money and will be the only app we use from September. If you need any help – please email shope@ems.bhcet.org.uk and he will be happy to help.

All students have access to the Unifrog careers platform. You can download it and use it by following https://www.unifrog.org/
