Dear Parent/Carer,

As part of the ongoing support programme that we offer to our students we are planning to take our year 12 students to the UCAS Discovery event at Teesside on Wednesday 1st June.  We will leave college at 11am and return by 1.30pm. We will provide transport free of charge to students.

Attendance at this event will provide our students with the opportunity to meet with universities from across the UK in at a marketplace event. Students will be able to engage with university representatives to find out more about what is on offer at their establishments.

In order to attend, students must create a UCAS Hub account and register using a unique code – details have been shared with students on how to do this using the year 12 careers team.

We appreciate that not everyone will want to apply to university. However, by ensuring that our students are given the opportunity to attend this event we know that they will then be able to make a truly informed decision regarding their next steps.  In year 13 all students will also be give support to consider apprenticeships and employment as alternatives to university.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the college.

Yours faithfully,
Mrs L Henderson
