Dear Parents/ Carers

As we celebrate this Advent season and look forward to the Christmas holidays, I would like to reflect on this academic year so far and share some information for the New Year.

Students have taken part in a rich and varied learning in lessons and taken part in an exciting programme of enrichment activities and trips. Please congratulate your child on their hard work and willingness to get involved in new opportunities.

Our students have shown leadership and character by establishing committees where they lead on important issues. The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, The Strength Though Unity Team, Prefects, House and Sports Captains have been active in supporting others and ensuring that our values of compassion and justice, respect and responsibility, honesty and self-belief, confidence and resilience are modelled and celebrated. They are a credit to the school and to their families. Students have achieved over 50,500 positive Class Chart points to date, and we are continuing to build our reward system to acknowledge and celebrate work ethic and ethos.

A huge thank you to parents/carers who have attended information evenings, Parents’ Evenings, EMS Live and been part of Parents’ Forum. Your generous involvement cannot be underestimated.

Some reminders and updates

Updated: 17/02/2023 197 KB

The single lunchtime has worked well and from January 2023 we will move to a 50-minute lunch. This allows for students to have their dinner and to do a club should they wish to.

We return to school on Wednesday 4th January 2023. The school start and end times remain the same (8.45am-3.15pm) We return on Week A.

· Please ensure your child wears full school uniform and has a planner.

· Students must attend school every day. School will contact you if your child’s attendance falls below 95%.

We appreciate that Christmas can be a time of joy, but also for some a time of worry or stress. If you need support in anyway, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Pastoral Leader.

Wishing you and your family a happy and peaceful Christmas.

Kind wishes
Mrs Crawshaw
