The English Martyrs Catholic School and Sixth Form College is a community built on Truth, Justice and Love. We are inspired by our Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust Virtues of Respect & Responsibility, Honesty & Self-belief, Justice & Compassion, Confidence & Resilience. Catholic worship is central to the operation of the school – each day begins with a prayer in the tutor base: This is largely led by the students themselves and reflects their concerns such that it is made relevant to their lives and experiences
Our Chapel is situated at the very heart of the school. The Chapel is a quiet place to think, reflect and pray and is also a place for community worship and joyful celebration.
The Chapel gets used every day for morning prayers and chaplaincy groups.
Our Head of Catholic Life, Mr McCartie is there to welcome whoever passes by and can be a source of support for staff and students, always ready with a listening ear and sometimes even a cup of tea.
Aside from morning prayers with our students, there is a weekly liturgy on a Friday at 8.00, all are welcome and Year Group masses on a Wednesday.
Throughout the school year each Year will have their own mass in the hall and an aspect of charity work will be included. In previous years, we have collected food and clothing for local food banks such as St. Aidan's. We work closely with other agencies such as CAFOD & SvP society.
