ESAA Durham County Champions
We are incredibly proud to celebrate a fantastic achievement for our Inter Girls (U15) Athletics Team, who were crowned ESAA Durham County Champions this week! Competing against strong opposition, the team delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 1st out of 14 teams. This brilliant result means they have successfully qualified for the Regional ‘A’ Final of the Track and Field Cup—a remarkable accomplishment, especially as the team is made up predominantly of Year 9 pupils.
Athletes Shine at English Schools Track & Field Cup
The English Schools Track and Field Cup got underway at Monkton Stadium, with all age groups proudly representing EMS in a fantastic day of competition. Our students were brilliant ambassadors for the school, demonstrating not only excellent athletic ability but also great team spirit and sportsmanship throughout the event. It was inspiring to see everyone supporting one another and giving their all across both track and field disciplines.

Today, we proudly celebrated our Hartlepool Schools Football Town Cup Champions—and what an incredible achievement it has been! With an outstanding five finals and five trophies brought back to The English Martyrs Catholic School, our players have truly made their mark and shown exceptional talent, determination and teamwork.
Celebrating Year 7 Success in the Hardboiled History Competition
We are incredibly proud of Year 7 students Jack, Moyad and Hashir, who took part in the Hardboiled History competition over the Easter holidays. Giving up their break to explore history in such a creative way shows real commitment and enthusiasm for learning.
Year 11 Town Champions
What a way to finish the day — Year 11 are officially Town Champions! The final against Manor Academy had everything: tension, drama and plenty of nerves. After a hard‑fought match, it all came down to penalties, and the lads showed incredible composure to hold their nerve and get the job done.
Year 10 Town Cup Winners
The Year 10s have officially rewritten school folklore — mostly by doing something that few believed was possible: winning the Town Cup. From the very first game, this team showed exactly what they’re about. Defensively solid, relentlessly hardworking, and driven by outstanding teamwork throughout the tournament. The final itself wasn’t a goal fest, but it was packed with determination, grit, and more than a few clearances that definitely went where they were meant to. Probably.
Year 9 Bring Another Cup Home
The trophies really did keep rolling in today as our Year 9 boys added another cup to an already memorable day for EMS. In a closely contested final, the lads produced a disciplined and hard‑working performance from first whistle to last. Their work ethic and commitment were outstanding, with everyone playing their part and sticking to the game plan throughout.
