Enrichment Activities

The school runs a wide range of enrichment activities including extra study provision, sporting activities, musical, dramatic and cultural pursuits, foreign trips and retreat experiences. This aspect of school life is very important and is very much appreciated by the students.

Lunchtime Enrichment Activities 2024-25

We have lots of running across lunchtimes at EMS. Lots to get involved with, try something new!

 

Enrichment Synopsis
Below is a short paragraph of what to expect in some of our sessions

 

Darts
Social darts Monday to Thursday.
Darts Tournament Friday- are you the next Luke Littler? Register to participate in a Darts tournament in your year group. Look out for details on social media.

Lego club
Join the RE department in making religious Lego models. Do you want to make a Lego replica of the Vatican? Come to Lego club!

RE in ART- Design in RE.
Making fun religious themed items with art supplies.

Textiles club
Have you ever wanted to know how to thread a sewing machine? Sew near seams and learn embellishment techniques? Come along and master the basics which will allow your fashion ideas to come to life.

Mindful colouring
Take a break from your day and be absorbed in the wonderful world of colour. Switch of and unwind with some mindful colouring and great company.

Design Masterclass
Learn drawing techniques that will not only boost your grades but teach you a range of computer and hand drawing techniques, that you can use with confidence in your coursework. Alessi and Dyson started at the beginning too so come along and pick up some tips and techniques that will inspire you!

SCiMon
C
ome along with your exercise book to 2.18 every Monday to share and celebrate your wonderful Science work. You will receive a postcard home and a small treat as a recognition of your efforts!

iDEA award
Enhance your digital skills and get a recognised qualification while you do so!

Jigsaw club
Come along and unwind with a puzzle, make new friends, and have fun! All are welcome.

Poetry Catch-Up
Missed a poem? Want to revise? Trying to expand your understanding? Come along to poetry catch-up! We’ll look at a different poem every week to make sure you are as prepared as possible for your English Literature GCSE.

Gaming club
Come along and sample a world of casual gaming with some retro titles and a few old favourites to enjoy.

Raspberry Pi Club
Try your hand at physical computing experimenting with the Raspberry Pi microcomputer.

CREST award
A
n opportunity to engage in a STEM project to obtain an official Crest award. This will involve building a rocket and launching it! (Limited to 30 places, see Mr Appleby-Beattie for a letter)
