EMS School Catering
We run our own kitchen at EMS - this gives us a lot more flexibility with what we can offer the students. We have a 3 week menu and fantastic Meal Deal options to give our students healthy nutritious meals on a daily basis.
Payment System
Money must be put onto students account before buying a meal. We are now a cashless school and use an online payment system.
For all payments in school, we use our My Child At School (MCAS). If you haven't got this or are experiencing any issues accessing your account please contact shope@ems.bhcet.org.uk and we can get you up and running.
Money can be paid in periodically at your own convenience but we would suggest that you credit the account with enough funds to last a week or a month.

Eligibility
For the current eligibility regulations please visit this link to Hartlepool Borough Council Website
Help Your School
If your child is eligible for free school meals, it's worth registering them. This is because schools receive a 'Pupil Premium' - an extra payment for each eligible child which they can spend on useful services
The Application Procedure
The quickest way to apply for free school meals is to make a telephone application on 01429 284188.
- OR you can make your claim for Free School Meals through Jobcentreplus.
- OR you can collect a paper application form from your child's school or the Civic Centre.
Applicants should forward the completed application form to: Civic Centre, Victoria Road , Hartlepool, TS24 8AY.
Eating Habits
Is your child's money not lasting the week? As a parent/carer you can put restrictions on how much your child can spend per day. Contact school to get the restrictions put in place.
Allergy Aware
Every BHCET school meal is free of nuts or nut products, however, we cannot guarantee that all of our ingredients have been manufactured in completely nut-free environments, at all stages of their supply chain. In some cases, while our ingredients will be nut free, they will have been made in a factory that also produces products containing nuts.
We also take all reasonable steps to try and minimise the chance that nuts are brought onto our school sites, by either pupils, parents or staff; but again, we cannot guarantee that our sites will always be completely nut free.
We ask that parents please support us in this by remembering not to send your child to school with either a packed lunch or snack that contains nuts.
We also ask that any parent of a child who suffers from a nut allergy, speaks to the school office to ensure that we have a robust individual care plan in place.
