Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to the beginning of the Y9 Options process. Your child has now reached a very important stage where it is necessary to select those subjects which are to be studied in Years 10 and 11. There will be an Options’ Information evening for parents and students on Thursday 29th February from 4pm – 6pm, where you will receive information of the possible choices and advice on how to support your child.
The process consists of:
- Assembly for Year 9 Students
- Session for Parents and Students and access of Options Booklet
- Access to Options Form
- Submission of Options form
- Support from Careers Staff
The format of the information evening will be as follows:
Key Stage 4 overview by Mrs C Hogarth (Deputy Headteacher) at 4:15pm and 4:45pm in St Anne’s Hall. To spread the load in the hall, can we ask that parents of students in 9AL1, 9AL2, 9JB1, 9JB2 and 9JI attend the first talk and 9JI2, 9MC1, 9MC2, 9TM1, and 9TM2 attend the second talk.
After the overview, parents and students are invited to visit subject areas in school to find out more about potential GCSE subjects. In addition, careers guidance will also be available.
I trust you will be able to take advantage of this opportunity, and we look forward to sharing information with you on the 29th February
Yours sincerely
Mr J O’Hara
Assistant Headteacher
