Our fantastic Year 11 linguists enjoyed an unforgettable day at the Trust’s French and Spanish Learning Event hosted at Carmel College this week!

The day was packed with energy, challenge, and creativity—from cracking codes in a high‑intensity escape room using key vocabulary, to going head‑to‑head with students from St. Michael’s and Carmel in a fast‑paced translation race. Every activity pushed their skills, teamwork, and quick thinking, and our students rose to each challenge with real enthusiasm and determination.

Alongside the competitive fun, students also delved into powerful higher‑level phrases designed to elevate their French and Spanish writing. This “glow-up” language will not only enrich their classroom work but also give them a valuable boost as they approach their MFL exams this summer.

The group returned buzzing with confidence and pride, energised by the experience and excited for the months ahead. We’re incredibly proud of the resilience, positivity, and passion they showed throughout the day.

Well done, Year 11—bring on those summer exams!
