On Friday night, we travelled down to Sheffield for a very special reason — to cheer on former EMS student Vicky Burgess, now the Head Coach of Netball Super League team Loughborough Lightning, as they took on Leeds Rhinos.

It was an incredible match, with Lightning securing a brilliant 70–43 victory! The atmosphere was electric, and our students had the fantastic opportunity to watch international netball stars from England, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica showcase their skill at the highest level.

A huge thank you to Vicky for taking time after the match to meet with the girls. It meant so much to them, and we are incredibly proud to see a former student achieving such great success — and inspiring the next generation of EMS netballers.

Well done, Lightning, and thank you, Vicky, for being such a wonderful role model!
