Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to you regarding an important matter concerning your child's attendance and punctuality at school.

It has come to our attention that your child has been late to school on multiple occasions. While we understand that occasional lateness can happen due to various reasons, we want to emphasise the critical importance of arriving at school on time. Your child should be in school by 8:40am each day.

Punctuality is a fundamental aspect of a child's education and overall development. When students arrive late to school, they miss out on valuable instructional time, disrupt the learning environment for themselves and their peers, and may struggle to catch up with the day's lessons. Consistent lateness can also have a negative impact on their academic progress, social integration, and future success. Being 10 minutes late to school each day means your child will lose 6.5 days of education across the academic year.

As part of our commitment to fostering a culture of punctuality and responsibility, we will be closely monitoring your child's attendance over the next three weeks. It is essential for your child to arrive promptly at school each day, ready to engage in learning activities from the very beginning of the day.

We kindly request your support in reinforcing the importance of punctuality with your child. Establishing morning routines, such as setting alarms, preparing school bags and uniforms the night before, and ensuring an adequate amount of sleep, can significantly help in ensuring timely arrival to school.

Should you encounter any challenges or require assistance in addressing factors contributing to your child's lateness, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to support you and work collaboratively to ensure that your child receives the best possible educational experience.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Together, we can help instil the virtues of responsibility and resilience in our students, preparing them for success both inside and outside the classroom.

Yours sincerely,
Mr G McLintock
