Y11 Prep Exams in Science
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to inform you that your son/daughter will be sitting an additional set of exams during the upcoming Prep exam period. This will involve completing both the higher tier and foundation tier papers in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
The purpose of this is to assess which tier of entry—higher or foundation—is most appropriate for your child to achieve the best possible outcome in their final exams. By having them sit both tiers, we can make an informed decision based on their performance, ensuring they are entered into the tier that will maximise their potential.
I would like to reassure you that your child will not be required to revise any additional content. The material covered in both the higher and foundation tiers is comparable, and no extra revision beyond their normal preparation will be necessary.
We understand that the exam period can be a stressful time for students, and we are mindful of ensuring that they are fully supported throughout this process. Our aim is to provide them with the best opportunity to succeed.
