Dear Parents/Carers,

We have been reviewing our school timings for the 2025/26 academic year in order to ensure that we provide your child with the greatest opportunity to fulfil their academic potential.

As result of this review process, we have made the decision to make some minor changes to the end time of the school day. As aforementioned, we feel that this change in time will support all of us in ensuring a better education for your child.

We are adjusting the lunchtime schedule to have a split lunch each of which will last 30 minutes. This will mean that the school day will start at 8:45am and end at 2:45pm. Full details of the day are attached.

These changes are being made to support pupils with a more enjoyable lunch period where they can have more time to sit and enjoy their meal rather than being rushed through and needing to leave the dining area. This will be of particular benefit when the weather is poor. This will also aid with our younger pupils, especially during their first few months, feel more relaxed in a quieter lunchtime environment.

Please Note: For those pupils who travel to school via the HBC bus services, our start time remains unchanged so there is no impact and the bus times on an afternoon will be adjusted to suit the new end time.

We understand that these changes may require adjustments to your routines. We encourage you to discuss this with your children and work together to find new strategies if needed.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we make this transition. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The new school day will look like this:

Sincerely,

Mr A Rodgers
