Our Year 8 and Year 9 students have spent the past few days on an inspiring retreat, centred on our school mission of Living Hope. Guided by the wonderful Youth Ministry Team at the Emmaus Youth Village, pupils have been embracing their faith through prayer, reflection, and community — discovering how they can be signs of hope and joy in the world around them.
Please continue to keep them in your prayers as they journey through this special time of encounter, growth, and spiritual renewal.
Day Two: Prayer, Pilgrimage, and the Presence of God
Day Two of the retreat was filled with joy, meaningful prayer, and a deepening commitment to our theme of Living Hope. A standout moment was our evening pilgrimage to St Mary’s Cathedral during our visit to The Source.
There, Bishop Stephen Wright led Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, giving our students the opportunity to rest in the transformative presence of God. As Saint Carlo Acutis once said, “When we stand before the Eucharist, we become saints.” This powerful time of worship left a lasting impact on our pupils, strengthening both their faith and their understanding of God’s enduring hope.
Day Three: Celebration, Leadership, and Faith in Action
Day Three brought a beautiful conclusion to the retreat. Our pupils demonstrated true leadership and reverence through a Celebration of the Word, thoughtfully created and led entirely by the students themselves.
Through prayer, reflection, and powerful symbolism, they explored what it means to live out Living Hope in their families, their school, and their wider communities. Their heartfelt contributions made this a deeply meaningful moment for everyone present, showcasing their growing confidence in expressing their faith.
We are incredibly grateful to the Youth Ministry Team for delivering such a memorable and inspiring retreat. Their guidance and support have helped our young people encounter hope, deepen their faith, and build a stronger sense of community.
