Well done to another group of our Year 7 students who had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Heugh Battery Museum this week. The trip was a well-deserved reward for their excellent attendance and achievement points.

During the visit, students took part in a hands-on experience, exploring a range of fascinating artefacts from the First World War. They handled historic weaponry, tried on period uniform items, examined early gas masks and even discovered carbolic soap—bringing history to life in a truly memorable way.

The trip also provided a meaningful moment of reflection, as students commemorated the bombardment of the town in December 1914, deepening their understanding of the local area’s role in history.

It was a brilliant day of learning, and a wonderful opportunity to connect with our rich local heritage. Well done to all who took part!
