Exploring Local History at Heugh Battery
Well done to another group of our Year 7 students who had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Heugh Battery Museum this week. The trip was a well-deserved reward for their excellent attendance and achievement points. During the visit, students took part in a hands-on experience, exploring a range of fascinating artefacts from the First World War. They handled historic weaponry, tried on period uniform items, examined early gas masks and even discovered carbolic soap—bringing history to life in a truly memorable way.
ESAA Durham County Champions
We are incredibly proud to celebrate a fantastic achievement for our Inter Girls (U15) Athletics Team, who were crowned ESAA Durham County Champions this week! Competing against strong opposition, the team delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 1st out of 14 teams. This brilliant result means they have successfully qualified for the Regional ‘A’ Final of the Track and Field Cup—a remarkable accomplishment, especially as the team is made up predominantly of Year 9 pupils.
